Forever Young Spa Participates in the Babcock & Wilcox Wellness Fair

[June 23, 2005] Wellness Fair a Success

During the early afternoon of Thursday, June 23, 2005, the Babcock & Wilcox Wellness Fair took place to promote health and wellness to B&W Canada employees. The fair was held in a large 20′ x 60′ tent, just outside the cafeteria doors in ideal sunny 25 C conditions. About 400 employees attended.

A diverse selection of community organizations provided information and activities such as mini health assessments, quizzes and draws. These agencies included the Heart and Stroke Foundations; Canadian Mental Health Association; Canadian Cancer Society; massage therapy; YMCA; Employee Assistance Program; Lung Association; Weight Watchers; B&W nursing representatives; Public Health Unit; B&W Self-Development Library; Grand River Conservation Authority; City of Cambridge Community Services; City of Cambridge Arts Centre; Peak Performance Health Centre; and Asthma Education from St. Mary’s Hospital.

The cafeteria provided a healthy and tasty BBQ, with low-fat turkey burgers, chicken breasts, turkey sausages, and veggie burgers. Not surprisingly, comments from employees were quite positive.
